Mr. Samuelian became principal in 2004. He was the assistant principal at Abbott for eight years. Previously, he was the assistant principal at Jack Benny Middle School. He has been around the Waukegan Public Schools for a long time and has worked in many schools. Originally, he was one of the founding teachers at Abbott. He taught sixth grade here for two years. Before Abbott opened, Mr. Samuelian taught in this building when it was West Elementary. He was at Jefferson Middle school for three years and at North Elementary for one year. Mr. Samuelian has said that he has always wanted to be an administrator and is pleased that he has reached his goal. The best thing about his job is that he is able to help students be successful in school. The worst thing is having to suspend students for not doing their job as students. He hopes that all the students do the best they can and go on to a successful career at the high school. His favorite thing about Abbott is that "We're a family here."
