- During the school year, students visit the library at least once every three weeks with their Communications class teacher. Students can come to the library on a pass to do an assignment or to read, with any teacher who signs out the LMC, or after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (Any student interested in tutoring, can show up afterschool in the library any day except Wednesdays.)
- All students are invited to participate in Jack Benny's Genre-Based Reading Incentive Program, Hang Out and Read! Students who read two books in each of the eight genre categories listed below, by April 1, 2009, will receive five Benny Bucks and get to participate in a Celebration party held in April in the LMC. The genre categories for this contest are the following: humor, folk/fantasy/science fiction, historical fiction, mystery, nonfiction, sports/adventure, biography, and poetry. See the link on this web site for more information.
- Please return any JBMS library books to the school office. Parents will be billed for any outstanding (2007-08) fines and replacement costs over the summer. Any overdue fines and book-replacement costs will need to be paid in order to check out books.
Visit the Waukegan Public Library to find a good book, magazine and/or DVD, and to participate in the Summer Reading Club!
