General Provisions
- Mission. The mission of the Army Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps program is "to motivate young people to be better citizens." This lofty objective is accomplished through a comprehensive program that is designed to:
- Develop informed and responsible citizens.
- Develop leadership potential and patriotism.
- Strengthen cadet character through the teaching of values associated with a life of service.
- Promote an understanding of the historical role of citizen soldiers and their service and sacrifice to the Nation.
- Create a desire to successfully complete high school.
- Objectives: The specific objectives of the JROTC Program are to:
- Develop leadership and patriotism.
- Develop informed and responsible citizens of character.
- Promote a historical understanding of the role of the citizen soldier in a Democratic society.
- Acquaint high school students with the technical requirements of the modern age.
- Develop the ability to logically arrange thoughts and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Develop knowledge of educational and vocational opportunities.
- Develop an appreciation of the value of physical and mental fitness.
- Develop the basic skills necessary to work effectively as a team member.
- Provide the motivation and the means to graduate from high school and continue their education.
- Develop self-discipline, responsibility, and a positive response to constituted authority.
