ART IV
Course Descriptions
Career Bound / Internship
The purpose of this class is to establish a
link between the student and real world applications. Students will use
the strengths they have learned through the previous years in the
Visual Arts classes at Waukegan High School and apply them in local
area businesses and community institutions. Students enrolled in this
class have an opportunity to work in real world situations that could
lead to permanent placement in the art career field. Requirements for
this class entail 3 previous years (1 year in each ART 1,2,3) in visual
art and have a strong desire to continue in this area. The class will
have three major goals: art as a career; meeting deadlines; and
building a working portfolio. The objectives of this class are to work
side by side with business and community institutions encouraging the
student to meet the goals of the class. Businesses and community
institutions would offer the student internships and task that would
establish the student¢â¡Ás skills in a particular venue. Through this
relationship, the student will enhance their portfolios which will lead
to a more decisive career opportunity after graduation. Advanced Placement Studio Art
