S.T.A.R.S. PROGRAM
S.T.A.R.S. - Successfully Targeting And Reaching Students
An extended day program that provides elementary and middle school students with an opportunity to increase their academic achievement, while building social skills at the same time. It is a 10 month program that has a series of 6 week sessions. It is located on the 2nd floor of the AOEC/Stephens' Center building.
Participants meet immediately after school and are provided a nutritious snack and mandatory academic assistance. In addition, enrichment activities are offered in the following areas: Performing Arts, Dance, Martial Arts, Fine Arts and recreational activities.
The S.T.A.R.S. program has been implemented into the AOEC Middle School progrom starting the 2006-2007 school year. AOEC Middle School students are given the option to attend the S.T.A.R.S. program Monday, Friday and every other Wednesday after their class session.
