Academic Vocabulary
Jack Benny students are expected to learn the meanings of the words contained in the lists below. There is one list for each grade level. Each list contains words from four subject areas: language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. These words will likely appear on the ISAT test in March. Students are invited to study and then participate in Vocabulary Races this winter in the Library Media Center. Sign up in the library. For more information, please see below.

THE ACADEMIC VOCABULARY RACES
This year, after studying the definitions of the words listed above, interested students competed in one or both of Benny's First Vocabulary Races during February in the Library Media center. Two students at a time raced to be the first to write an accurate definition of their word on the dry erase board then run and ring the red bell! There was one race for Communications and one for Math. Treats were provided. Results are below.
