Tiger Facts

Tigers, Panthera tigris, are the biggest cats in the world. Today there are about five subspecies of tigers alive (see picture on below). In the last 50-100 years three subspecies have been driven to extinction. Which means, there are no more Bali, Caspian or Javan tigers anymore.

Tigers can live in hot jungles or cold forests. Tigers can be found in Russia, southern China, Southeat Asia, India and Sumatra. Adult tigers usually live be themselves. Tigers are predators and can eat up to 60 pounds of meat (usually don't).

Tiger Facts- This site offers basic information about cats. However, the really neat thing about this site is that they offer "TigerCam." TigerCam allows you to watch the Tigers that the National Zoo has live. It's really cool.
