Principal's Summer 09' Notes

Welcome to Thomas Jefferson Middle School, where ALL Jaguars are Gifted and College Bound! We are getting close to the start of a new journey. For some of you this will be a familiar place, for others this is your new home. We embrace you with open arms! I am so happy to report that we made AYP this year! Our students have worked so hard and we are very proud of the work that they have done. Making AYP will continue to be an uphill battle but I believe that we can do it! We believe that all students possess the capability to succeed, and with your help we can make this possible. We have taken on some challenges for the 2009-2010 school year. Our teachers have worked together in planning for an even more successful school year in the fall of 09'. The Building Leadership Team has decided on some goals for us to reach, including:

*Increased communication with staff, students, and families through the use of technology

*Increased consistency in delivery of instruction and in the area of teacher and student expectations

*Becoming community based, sharing partnerships with local businesses and churches

*Being DATA driven in policy and decision making

*Increasing student and staff school spirit and moral to an even more exciting level of Jaguar Pride!

We hope you will support us as we move beyond the gap!
