National Inclusive School's Week
The Special Education Department and the Bilingual Department have teamed together to celebrate National Inclusive Schools Week. National Inclusive Schools Week is a project of the U.S. Dept. of Education's Office of Special Education Programs
National Inclusive Schools Week recognizes the nation's progress and promotes action towards increasing the capacity of schools and communities to provide a quality education to n increasingly diverse student population, particularly to those who have disabilities. This year, the National Institute will focus on the value of "working together." (National Institute for Urban School Improvement).

| WHEREAS; |
The National Institute for Urban School Improvement has designated the week of December 6-10,2004, as NATIONAL INCLUSIVE SCHOOLS WEEK; and |
| WHEREAS; |
Miguel Juarez Middle School is committed to providing Waukegan's children an education in schools and classrooms that are welcoming and capable of educating all the City's children; |
| WHEREAS; |
The educators of Miguel Juarez Middle School recognize that each child is unique, learns differently, and, therefore, learns
better if teaching is tailored to their abilities and interests;
and |
| WHEREAS; |
The educators and families of Miguel Juarez Middle School have been working hard to ensure that our classrooms and schools are characterized as being high performing and inclusive; and |
| WHEREAS; |
By their efforts to make our schools and classrooms high performing and inclusive, the educators and families of Miguel Juarez Middle School have contributed significantly to building a stronger and more inclusive Waukegan community; and |
| WHEREAS; |
The educators and families of Miguel Juarez Middle School deserve to celebrate their successes and wish to reflect on how they might even further improve; THEREFORE, BE IT |
| RESOLVED: |
That Miguel Juarez Middle School will join with the National Institute for Urban School Improvement in declaring the week of December 6-10,2004, as Inclusive Schools Week in Waukegan and encourage schools and classrooms across the community to sponsor appropriate learning and community-building activities in its recognition. |
