Lyon Magnet Applied Learning Academy is a kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school.  The school is multiracial with an enrollment of 560 students.  The student body at Lyon is comprised of students from all over the City of Waukegan, with 90 percent of the students bussed.

The Lyon Magnet Applied Learning Academy staff consists of highly qualified teachers meeting the standards of excellence as determined by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001.  In addition to our classroom teachers, we are pleased to offer Art, Computer Instruction, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Reading Support, and Writing Support by qualified staff members.
