Oakdale Kindergartners Support Soldier |

Ms. Solis' Kindergarten class made a care package to send to private
Carbajal, a soldier stationed in Iraq. They found Iraq on the globe and
talked about how, being so far from home, the soldier may become
homesick. The class wrote letters and sent pictures to bring cheer to
the soldier. Many students collected various items including
toiletries, canned foods, candy, cookies and magazines.
All items were placed in a large box which the children decorated
patriotically. After weighing the box the class learned the box weighed
40 pounds!
The class learned that by working together, they could accomplish great
acts of kindness!
Mr. Carbajal was thrilled to received the care package while in Iraq.
