Imagine Me Successful

 STARS is a "Life Coaching" program that inspires students to learn by helping them create and activate a Life Plan for success!

Almost eight years ago, the 1st 21st Century S.T.A.R.S program began with just 75 kids...to date S.T.A.R.S. has served over 1,500 kids in the Waukegan Community!!!

S.T.A.R.S., Successfully Targeting and Reaching Students, is an extended day program that provides elementary, middle and (newly funded) high school students with a wonderful opportunity to increase their academic achievement, while at the same time build social skills in a fun and innovative way. The program consists of a 10 month program that and has a series of 6 week sessions. Participants meet immediately after school Monday through Friday at elementary sites. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for Middle Schools. Monday, Wednesday and Friday for our high school. Students are provided a nutritious snack and mandatory academic assistance. In addition, enrichment activities are offered in the following areas: Performing Arts, Dance, Martial Arts, Cooking, Fitness, Fine Arts and recreational activities.  Participants are provided door-to-door transportation home expect for our high school participants. The following sites funded for the 2007/2008 school year include: "North", Glen Flora, Clearview, Abbott, Webster, Jack Benny, "Miguel Juarez","Ninth Grade Center", "NGC Credit Recovery", and "Stephen's Center-AOEC Middle and High School Students".
