Waukegan Public Schools Instructional Technology:
Vision for Technology in our Classrooms
Technology is viewed as a transparent resource that supports the learning process, as well as, streamlines the data management necessary in an effective educational system.
|
District 60 utilizes technology to:
- nurture lifelong learners who value diversity among themselves
- explore both human and technological resources which help manage and create dynamic, creative, and engaging learning communities
- acquire technology literacy skills necessary to process information and work efficiently
- communicate ideas with a wide audience and work collaboratively
- assess student learning, generate data that guides daily instruction, to better meet the needs of all learners
- providing and utilizing multi-faceted tools and resources to address the learning needs of a diverse learning community
- streamline efforts and resources to provide the best services possible in a cost-effective manner.
|
Instructional Technology is not a content subject unto itself, rather a purposeful support for all content learning via best practice instructional strategies that incorporate technology tools and resources that improve student learning and effective management of the educational system. The technology literacy skills needed to access and use these tools are taught "just in time" to maximize learning and prepare our students for the workplace of the future and improve productivity of our staff.
