Uniform Policy
Washington School is a Uniform School. The School Uniform Policy will be in effect on the first day of school in August. There will be a grace period of one week for new students and returning students who were unable to purchase uniforms during the summer months. ALL students are expected to be in their official school uniforms every day. We believe that school uniforms instill in our students a sense of belonging and help strengthen school unity.
The official school colors are navy blue and white. Listed below you will find the types of clothing that will be acceptable at Washington School.
ACCEPTABLE Navy blue jumpers and skirts Navy blue shorts and skorts Navy blue pants White shirts with collar White or navy blue polo shirts White or navy blue turtlenecks and mock turtlenecks White or navy blue knit polo shirts with school name Plain Navy blue or white sweaters Navy blue or white Washington School sweatshirts (may be worn over white collared shirts and may be purchased through Washington School.)
Black shoes are encouraged, but gym shoes are acceptable. Shorts under the skirt or jumper are highly recommended for girls on gym days.
UNACCEPTABLE Blue jeans T-shirts with no collar T-shirts with designs or colors Sweatshirts with designs or colors Sweaters with designs or colors Navy blue sweat pants (may be worn underneath skirts and jumpers on cold days but must be removed once students enter class)
