New Teacher MemoSo you want a class website. Where do you start? Who do you talk to? Do you want to help with the school’s web page? Would you like to have a web development club? Each and every one of our teachers is entitled to free web space on our Web Server for a classroom website (not a personal website). You can easily post student pictures, student artwork or even post classroom assignments. The only limit you have is the limit of your own imagination. To get started you need to contact the Web Manager (webmanager@waukeganschools.org) or sign up in one of our training classes. To sign up go to the Training Schedule and sign up. We run a program called Manila. Manila is a website and weblog publishing system that anyone can use to create or edit web content. Because the Manila user-interface is browser-based, content editors can use this to update pages from any location that has Internet access (school or home). This program has an easy to use format that allows even those with no prior web publishing background to create pages easily. This program is free and training is held in district to provide easy access. All you have to do is sign up!
