Removing Theme Link
Have you ever picked a new theme and a theme link shows up at the bottom of your pages? This tutorial will walk you through taking that link off your pages. This is a very advanced tutorial. If you do not possess a good knowledge of Manila and a bit of knowledge about HTML, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS!
With that said, let's talk about removing the link. This tutorial has a lot of large graphics and may take some time to load. You may want to have this tutorial and your web site open, in separate windows. That way you can refer to this tutorial while you are making the changes to your site.
-
Select Prefs from the
Editors Only menu.
-
Your screen will change and you will have a different navigation
menu. Scroll / move to the end of the navigation menu. This is the
Advanced Menu. This is for doing
very advanced editing in Manila. If you're not comfortable with
Manila, stop here.
Click Advanced.
-
This will take you to a new menu area (see picture below). The only
thing you need to alter here is the template. Be advised that the
template will affect everything on your web site. Be careful.
Click Template (the second item in
the list).
-
On the Template page, you will see
a text box full of HTML. If you don't know a lot about HTML, don't
worry about it. Scroll / move to the bottom on the
Template text box.
-
Look at the highlighted text in the above picture. You will look
for the same theme link.
<p>{themeLink()}</p>
-
Once you locate this in your own template, add a
<!-- before the theme link
and a --> after the link to
comment it out.
<!--<p>{themeLink()}</p>-->
-
Once you have added the comment tags, click
Submit to save your changes.
-
If you made changes but are not comfortable posting them, click the
Restore Default button. This will
erase any changes you made and start your theme as new again.
