Saving Internet Graphics

How to take graphics found on the Waukegan web site and save them

Many people from the district have asked about using graphics I have posted within their sites. Waukegan staff has permission to use graphics found on the district level pages. These graphics were created in-house and no copyright permission is needed. However if you take graphics from any other site on the web, you need to get copyright permission before you use them. The directions here are for saving the graphics on your computer in case you want to alter them. Just remember that once you are ready to use them you have to re-post them on to your site (wither as a GEM or Picture).

Here are some directions about saving the graphics on your computer.

PC:

  • Place your mouse cursor over the graphic you want.
  • Right click to get a new menu. (See picture below)
  • Click the "Save Picture As" option.
  • Then just select the location where you would like the graphic to go. You can also rename the graphic whatever you want.

MAC:

  • Place your mouse cursor over the graphic you want.
  • Hold the control button down and click the graphic to get a new menu. (see picture below)
  • Click the "Download Image to Disk" option.
  • Then just select the location where you would like the graphic to go. You can also rename the graphic whatever you want.
