AUTOMOBILES, OTHER VEHICLES AND PARKING LOTS - Violation of vehicle regulations may result in one or more of the following: a ticket by the appropriate law enforcement agency; the vehicle towed away; loss of driving privileges. "Loss of driving privileges" means that you may not drive and that your vehicle may not be on campus. Since driving is a privilege, any administrative personnel may restrict automobile operation.

  1. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT, VANDALISM, OR DAMAGE TO STUDENT VEHICLES.
    Please lock your vehicle.
  2. In order to drive anytime during the school year, you must purchase a sticker ($35 & $55 non-refundable, price subject to change) from the safety office and place it on the vehicle as directed. Stickers will be sold to seniors first. Juniors may park at Weiss field. Grades are evaluated after each semester. In order to drive for the second semester, students must have a "C" average for the first semester. Grade weighing is not used in computing the grade average for driving privileges. Students who have previously abused their driving privileges or who have poor discipline or attendance records may not be allowed to purchase a parking sticker. Every vehicle parked in the lot must have a sticker permanently attached on the left side of the rear window: (No scotch tape!) ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS FOR ANY REASON.
  3. Vehicle stickers for automobile registration and driving are restricted to juniors and seniors.
  4. If you drive a vehicle to school that does not have a school parking permit (emergency basis only) you must register the vehicle in the safety office immediately upon arrival (license number, make, model, year, and owner's name required). The charge for each temporary registration is $2.00. Since you must purchase a sticker, this temporary procedure is good for a maximum of seven school days.
  5. Parking permits are not transferable. They are good only for the vehicle to which they have been registered. If you wish to change vehicles you must bring the old permit to the safety office. A new permit will be issued to you FREE OF CHARGE when you return the original sticker (limit of 3 changes).
  6. Students who use their vehicles to assist others in breaking school regulations will be assigned the same penalty as those who break the regulations and may lose their driving privileges.
  7. Students' vehicles may be parked only in the student parking lot and must be within the yenow lines. Use of visitor or faculty parking area is prohibited from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM; vehicles will be towed.
  8. Once you have parked your vehicle in the school parking lot, you may not remove it until the end of your school day unless you have permission.
  9. To deter theft, vandalism, and other parking lot problems, students must leave their car immediately upon arrival at school and enter the school building. No one is allowed to remain in an automobile for any reason unless authorized by the Dean's Office.
  10. You are not allowed to go to the parking lot during the school day unless you have permission from the Dean's Office.
  11. Do not park in the "No Parking" and "Handicapped" zones.
  12. The speed is 10 miles per hour. In all cases, pedestrians have the right of way.
  13. You must obey the directions of the parking lot supervisors at all times.
  14. Reckless driving is a serious offense. Examples include spinning wheels, driving beyond the speed limit, driving too fast for conditions, improper turns, and failure to keep your vehicle under control at all times.
  15. You must obey all Rules of the Road while on campus. This includes obeying all stop signs, one-way traffic signs, no parking areas, and bus stop arms, etc.
