Extra-Curricular Activities
All activities of the pupils sponsored by the school are considered a part of the educational program and, as such, shall be supervised by teachers or other personnel designated by the principal. Extra-curricular activities shall be defined as any such activities sponsored by the school wherein pupils: (a) meet for a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week for such time as the activity is ongoing; and/or (b) participate in one or more public performances; and (c) receive no academic credits for their participation in such activities. All other activities of the pupils sponsored by the school shall be considered "special interest groups" and shall not be considered extra-curricular activities.
Rules and regulations concerning eligibility of student participants in extra-curricular activities shall be administered with the overriding objective that the student participants make steady and continuous academic progress, consistent with graduation after four (4) years of high school attendance
Academic progress shall be defined as:

Evaluation of academic progress will begin at the end of the freshman 1st semester.
Student progress will be evaluated at the end of each successive semester. Students shall not be eligible to participate in extra-curricular activities if they have not obtained the level of progress as defined above. This ineligibility shall continue until the appropriate level, as defined above, has been reached.
Eligibility prior to evaluation periods, as well as weekly eligibility, will be determined by IHSA standards for all IHSA activities as well as by the rules and regulations of Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60.
