VOCATIONAL STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS Students enrolled at the Tech Campus have the opportunity to become members in vocational student organizations. Vocational student organizations have programs designed to develop leadership and skill competencies. Activities include participation in local, regional, state and national leadership and skill competitions relating to each student's program of instruction.
Students have an opportunity to become a member of the Lake County High Schools Chapter of the Illinois Association of Skills USA VICA. The Tech Campus Chapter is the largest and most successful chapter in the state of Illinois. In order to become a member, the student must complete an application form and receive their instructor's written approval/recommendation and parent signature.
STUDENT LOCKERS In most Tech Campus program areas, each student is assigned a locker for his/her personal possessions and individually owned tools and materials. Instructors in each program area assign these lockers and distribute locker combination numbers to students. Lockers should always be locked when not in use. All personal valuables (purses, wallets, etc.) should be locked up at all times. Do not give your combination to anyone! Keep in mind that these lockers are provided to you as a service. The Tech Campus maintains the right to search student lockers at any time an administrator feels it is warranted. The Tech Campus is not responsible for lost or stolen items. A student who withdraws from the Tech Campus during the school year must clean out his/her locker on his/her last day at the Campus. All students must clean out their lockers by the last day of attendance before summer vacation.

In the SURC, students can find resource materials related to subject taught at the Tech Campus as well as career education materials and/or receive assistance from the SURC staff. Students are encouraged to use this area for study and research, and to check out materials as needed. The student's Tech Campus ID will be used to check out materials from the SURe. Materials are to be returned by the due date.A student who withdraws from the Tech Campus MUST return all materials by his/her last day of attendance.
TELEPHONES There are pay telephones available for student use during non-class time. Students will not be called from class to receive calls or visitors except in the event of an emergency.
SCHEDULE CHANGES Students who would like to change their schedule should contact their home school counselor or the Assistant Director for Student Services at the Tech Campus. This action should be initiated by the students as early as possible at the start of the school year. Any other changes should occur at the semester. In every case involving a LCHS Tech Campus course, decisions regarding schedule changes are made between the home school coordinator and the Assistant Director for Student Services at the Tech Campus.
STUDENT INJURY OR ILLNESS If a student suffers an injury, no matter how small, or becomes ill while at the Tech Campus, he/she MUST immediately report it to his/her instructor.
ACCIDENTS AND INSURANCE The school is responsible only for immediate first aid. The Board of Control does not pay any medical or hospital bill incurred as a result of an accident to the student at school. The parent or guardian is responsible for the payment of such bills.
We urge you to avail yourself to the protection afforded through participating school insurance. You will be given information regarding various insurance plans during the first week of school at your home school.
